Omni Basement Systems Owner Brews Up Attention

ONTARIO, CANADA – For nearly a decade, Pete Karreman, owner of Omni Basement Systems, has focused on basement waterproofing in Oakville, ON, and the surrounding areas. But recently he’s had another interest: selling his home on Old Guelph Road in Dundas. Not one for conventional behavior, Karreman has decided to use a unique method for getting his house sold. He announced that he is offering $1,000 worth of free beer to whoever buys the house.

This distinctive selling method is one of Karreman’s latest creative marketing ideas. Already known for driving around town in a decked-out and decaled 1989 Nissan S-Cargo with a full-size stuffed mannequin sitting in the passenger seat, Karreman is no stranger to getting attention. He views selling his home the way he would view selling a waterproofing product to a homeowner. It’s all about letting the customer know who you are and what benefits they will receive when doing business with you.

“This is an exercise in marketing,” Karreman said. “This is about getting your name out there.”

The house has been on the market since November 12. It’s located on a half-acre of property and features a pool, hot tub, theatre room and panoramic views. It’s on the market for $419,900 and the buyer will have a choice between the free beer or $1,000 worth of free wine.

Omni Basement Systems Participates in 2011 Winona Peach Festival

For the second year in a row, Omni Basement Systems will be a vendor at the Winona Peach Festival! We love getting involved with the community and the 2011 Winona Peach Festival is the perfect way to do it. This annual festival is run by Hamilton area businesses and volunteers to raise money for charities and sport groups in the area. They work year-round to make this event happen and Omni Basement Systems is excited to be a part of this festival once again.

The festival features a car show, a Fun Factory for the kids, carnival rides like bumper cars and teacups, Peter and Paula Peach, great food, and much more. The 2011 Winona Peach Festival runs from August 26 through the 28th. Parking for the event is at E.D. Smith Fruit Farm on Barton Street. Parking is $10, but admission to the festival is free. There is also a complementary shuttle bus to the festival every 5 to 10 minutes.

The first step to a clean, dry, mold free crawl space is to identify the problem and eliminate all signs of mold and mildew. Mold is the most common problem found in basements and crawl spaces. Along with mold comes horrible smells and odors. The main source of mold and terrible smells and odors is moisture in the air beneath your home in your crawl space.
