Job Stories From Oakville, ON
Push Pier in Oakville, ON

Lucy L. from Oakville called Omni Basement systems with concerns of cracks developing in her brickwork in the front coner of her house.

One of Omni's trained professionals went out to do an assesment of her property. After careful measurements we determined that the front corner of the house had settlement issues. This is caused by soil conditions under the house causing the footing to settle. This is evident by cracking in the basement foundation plus separating and cracking of brickwork above.

Omni drew up an estimate for 5 push piers which also included a site visit and drawing from a local engineeering firm. Once the engineering work was done and approved, Omni got the go ahead to start the work.

Omni first escavated the soil from where the Supportworks Push Piers were to be installed. Once Omni had access to the footing they attached the brackets to the footings and started driving down the piering tubes to the support the footing. The first piering tube has a unique Friction Reducung Collar so that the subsequent tubes don't give false readings from friction against the side as they are pushed through the earth. Once each Push pier reaches the require resistance from the bed rock or supporting soil deep inside the ground, they are then capped off so they are secure. Once all the piers have been installed, hydraulic drives are installed and Omni started to lift the area back in position.  Once the house has been lifted, the Push piers are installed with the proper residence they can be tightened off so they can not move again. The Push piers and the Pier Tubes will stay under ground to permantly stabilize the foundation. The wall can now be waterproofed and back filled.

The result is the homeowner is very happy with the service provided knowing the her foundation has been stabilized.

I have water seeping through basement floor in a few spots. Hydrostatic pressure, coming up through floor--not a wall leak. Have lived here for 30+ years, never had this/any water issues in basement, but recent new construction of new houses behind seems to have done something to ground water? Maybe. Anyway...it's not a 'flood', but it's an issue. (Wet carpet, ruined underlayment). Would like a solution, with a sump pump, at a reasonable cost with as little mess/disruption as possible. Please. **Would prefer an email or text to set up an interview. Not a phone call. Thank you

We have a small area of wet concrete on the floor in our finished area of our basement. It has been like that for 1 month and hasn't dried out. Strange since it has been so dry. We thought it might be the sprinkler system. We would like someone to come and take a look. Thanks, Laurie

Hello, We have a 60 year old brick bungalow that has significant cracks in the ceiling and some along the wall. The cracks are in a criss cross pattern. We are looking for an assessment as they have been patched but keep coming back. I understand you deal with foundation issues. If this is an issue in the attic, do you have solutions for that as well? Thank you

Planning to finish our basement and would like several cracks professionally inspected for an opinion if repair is needed. There are 3 long diagonal cracks that were partially epoxy injected 18 years ago, and 2 vertical cracks. No water or moisture penetration observed yet, but would like an opinion on them before finishing. Most exposed cracks are 1mm or less except one that is 1.5-2mm but above grade.
