I was waiting for a large rainfall to test out my new basement system, which finally we received on May 31st. I am happy to report the basement has remained dry. Valerie has a home in Tillsonberg; sitting on a poured concrete foundation. Like many homes of this type of construction, they experience, at some point, a wall crack that needs to be repaired. The most common places for wall cracks to appear are in the bottom corner of windows or the beam pockets. These are the most stress of a foundation wall. In this case it is in the bottom corner of the beam pocket. Omni Basement systems performed a wall crack repair using the patented Flexispan repair. Minor basement flooding. Have lived in house for 8 years and have had less than 5 instances where water has seeped into basement. With the ice storm we just had, one side of house has some water seeping in at bottom of wall. No cracks visible. Would like options on how to possibly seal the wall of exposed concrete cinder blocks where water is coming in. Also would like crawl space inspected on how to make it more energy efficient. Thanks.

I have an old foundation that is causing floors to sag and an old main beam in the basement to twist. I am looking to upgrade footings in the basement as well as crawl space to make way for improved living space designs in the floors above. We have a cold cellar in the basement underneath our porch area outside. Although we try and run a dehumidifier in there when temperatures will allow, we just can't seem to control the mould growth in there.
