Challenge
The customer in Milton, On originally called Omni Basement systems because he was concerns about cracking under his basement windows plus he has other wall cracks that he was concerned with.
The first step was to adhere carbon fibre tot he wall that covered the cracks under the window to add structural support to the wall and trevent further cracking or possibly wall failure.
While we were ther installing the carbon fibre, our expert installer, Dustin, noticed multiple cracks in the foundation and even more serious was that one corner had fallen, cousing cracks to open.
Along with a P.Eng, we determined that the house had to be lifted back to position so the eP.Eng drew up specification and Omni prepared to go to work.
Frt, Omni opened up the floor and install 6 flush mount push pier brackets. Once the brackets were in place, pier were driven through them to approx. 25' where the soil pressure was met to the P. Eng recommended "Factor of Safety" TThe the drive stand and drive cylinders were removed and small push cylinders were added along with hydraulics pressure tubes which are connected all together in a daisy chain fashion and connected to a hydralic pump. At this time the hydraulic pump pressurizes the push cylinders together and lifts the house back into position. The the push pers in the flush mount brackets are bolted in position and the house foundation is supported. the concrete floor can be restored.
Kari R Moved into their new house 11 years ago and started noticing cracks in the foundation and brick work. since the house was new they contacted the builder and they had a basement wall crack fixed by another company through Tarion warantee. The cracks on the exterior got more noticeablre and a crack on the concrete slab floor was present. The customer contacted a contractor before calling Omni Basement systems but they could not help.
The customer then called Omni Basement Systems and one of our highly trained estimators came to see her. After a thorough inspection of the house and foundation and hiring an Engineer to assisit with design of a sytem, Omni was ready to go ahead with resolving her issues.
What Omni Basenet System determined was that one side of the house had settled and had dropped.
The solution was to install Foundation Supportworks inc Push Pier supplementary support systems to support the footing from settling any further. Once this was installed on the customers foundation wall, Omni Basement systems was able to apply force to not only support the foundation but lift it back into original position.
The customer is very pleased with the result and the workmanship on the job and with communication with our staff members.
