Photo Album: A clean and healthy crawlspace in Kitchener, On

Matt has a house in Kitchener, On with a crawlspace that was not healthy because of the dirt floor. The dirt floor allows moisture and other respiratory irritants to enter the house above. Omni Basement systems recommended and installed our Cleanspace encapsulation process. Cleanspace is a 20mil thick liner that is installed over the dirt and sealed against the wall. Because the Cleanspace is mechanically fastened, it won't come off from crawling on it. The moisture is kept to a minimum and it is cleaner to store items in the crawlspace.

although the dirt floor does not look damp, moisture will still come out from the ground and it will attract bugs.

Cleaner and dryer.

This area has now been transformed into a Clean and healthy storage area.

Wals and Floor

Not only the floors are sealed, but we also seal the walls too. This eliminates the moisture.

Insulation is installed (not shown)

We have a special insulation that is installed under the Cleanspace liner to condition the air more. Insulation is the floor joists do NOT work. The friction fit insulation in the floor joists becomes damp and heavy and will fall down. Also, it will hang on to moisture and rot your floor joists.
