Typical wall crack
this is a shrinkage crack and very typical for this area. First step is to open the concrete floor around the crack.
Flexible sealant
A flexible sealant is applied to the crack. This is the first and most important line of defense in stopping and water coming through the crack.
Open cell drainage foam.
Just in case any water gets past the bead of sealant in the crack, a strip of open cell drainage foam is applied over top.
Flexible sealant applied over top.
Flexible sealant applied over foam. This water tight sealant is applied over the drainage foam.
Troweled sealant
The layer of sealant is troweled over to insure no water gets past the drainage foam.
Cleanspace membrane
A final membrane is applied over the entire area. This is fastened and sealed to the wall.
Fastened and sealed to wall
The Cleanspace membrane is fastened and sealed to the wall using a flexible sealant. Water cannot escape past this membrane.
Floor restored
The concrete floor is restored back to the layers and and water that might get past the first two layers is directed under the concrete slab into the gravel bed.
