Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Encapsulation of a Crawlspace in Milton, On

Bruce & Megan have a home with a dirt floor crawlspace. They needed a vapor barrier to prevent the moisture from causing damage to their home. Omni Basement Systems encapsulated the Crawlspace with the Cleanspace liner. Cleanspace is a 20mil thick liner that is made up of 7 layers. This membrane is mechanically fastened and sealed against the wall.

Drainage matting

Delta MS is used to add drainage matting and protect the Cleanspace liner.

Terra Block insulation

A layer of insulation goes down next.

SmartJacks and Supplemental Beam

Galvanized SmartJacks will support a supplemental beam to fix the sagging floors.

Encapsulation with Cleanspace

Finally, the area is encapsulated with a vapor barrier called Cleanspace. In the middle of the picture is a product called Smartdrain. THis will collect any water if there is a plumbing leak and sound an alarm as soon as water hits it.
