Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Encapsulated crawlspace in Milton, ON

Terri has a home with a crawlspace in Milton, ON. To prevent the moisture from decaying the building materials, Terri wanted a vapor barrier to encapsulate the crawlspace. Omni Basement Systems installed the incredible Cleanspace vapor barrier. Cleanspace is a 7 layer, 20 mil thick liner and is mechanically fastened to the walls so it will never move and sealed so moisture from the earth will not escape into the crawlspace air envelope. The Crawlspace looks very clean and bright. Terri can now use the crawlspace for storage and not worry about damage.

Dirt floor

THis is bad for your home and your health for many reasons. The moisture is trapped in the crawlspace and will rot the building materials and if you venti;ate the crawlspace, this will only bring more moisture from outside.

Insualting floor joists.

IT kinda makes sense that if your floor are cold, you insulated the floor joists under the floor. WRONG! The insulation in the floor joist will become damp from the moisture and it no longer acts like insulation because the air spaces in the insulation get filled with water. Also, the damp insulation beside the joists will rot your joists over time.

Level earth

Omni will level the earth to some degree and remove the insulation.

Drainage matting

To make sure that any moisture does not get trapped in an area and to protect the Cleanspace, we install Delta MS as a drainage matting.

Cleanspace liner

Cleanspace is installed over the floor and get attached to the walls and sealed at seams and at the top.

Smart Drain

This is a floor drain installed. In case there is a plumbing leak above, this will capture the water and sound off an loud alarm, which can be heard upstairs.
