Foundation Repair Photo Album: Interior waterproofing system in St. Catharines, ON

Jodi has a home in St. Catharines that was leaking and damp. Omni Basement Systems came and inspected the property and found that she needed an interior drainage system. She also had walls that were bowing. Quite often we find that when we are inspecting for waterproofing, we find other problems with the foundation. Along with a patented drainage system, Omni also installed the incredible Carbon Armor wall stabilization system. The Carbon Armor consists of a 7" wide strip of carbon fiber that is adhered to the wall using an epoxy. The carbon fiber strip is 10 stronger than steel one the epoxy is cured. Also, when have a block wall, we will core drill the 4th block up and fill the cavities with grout to solidify the bottom of the wall.

The walls are showing signs of dampness and the old sump system is an open pit that falls short of the Ontario building code.

Bowing walls

THere are signs here that the walls are bowing. This will show up as cracks in the mortar joints.

7" wide strips of Carbon Armor are adhered to the wall with epoxy.

Under the stairs.

To properly support the wall under the stairs, Omni added horizontal strips. This will alleviate the trouble of removing the stairs.

Wall membrane and drainage system added.

Cleanspace wall membrane is installed to direct any moisture down and the patented drain system, Waterguard, is installed.

Patented drain system

Waterguard, our patented drain system, is installed in the trench and then gravel is added to assist with the drainage. Waterguard ports are installed for easy inspection and dehumidifier drain points.

Supersump

Our incredible Supersump is installed. The sump features a Zoeller cast-iron pump, a high water watch alarm, an airtight floor drain and a two-piece easy to open lid.
