Foundation Repair Photo Album: Wall Stabilization in Dundas, ON
Neil has a foundation of block wall and noticed some cracking in the mortar joints. When there is horizontal cracking in the mortar joints, this means that the wall is bowing. Depending on the degree of bowing, we will use different products to stabilize or straighten the wall.
In this case, the wall had not bowed too much but the home owner did not want it to get worse. In this case, Omni installs Carbon Armor. Carbon armor is 7" wide strips of Carbon fiber which is epoxied to the block wall.
Grinding down blocks
Before the carbon fiber will adhere, the blocks have to be ground down so that any paint is removed and the pours are opened up.
Full wall
It is important to go right to the bottom of the wall.
Strips are adhered
After the epoxy is add to the wall and let set for a few minutes, the Carbon Armor is adhered and more epoxy is applied.
