Tristen in Hamilton, On had a crawlspace with lots of moisture issues. The joists were sagging and there was mold growing on them.
This was caused by a bare dirt crawlspace floor that was constantly releasing moisture into the air envelope of the crawlspace. Old way of thinking was to to simply vent the crawlspace to "air it out". After years and tears of studies, this was found to be untrue. The best way to prevent the moisture is to seal the ground from the air envelope. Make this space a part of the home. Now the air can be dehumidified and storage space can be gained. Because of the damage that was already done to the floor joists above, a Supplemental Beam and SmartJacks from Supportworks were installed. Voila, the crawlspace has been transformed.

Matt in Hamilton had a crawlspace in Hamilton, On that needed a lot of help. As is with all crawlspaces, it needed encapsulation which is a vapor barrier over the ground to protect the house from the earth's moisture. The floors were already sagging because of the poor supports that it was sitting on. Omni Basement Systems went to work,. First cleaning the debris out and leveling the ground in order to install the Cleanspace vapor barrier. The next step was to install supplemental beams under the joist system and support them with our fully galvanized and adjustable Smartjacks system. these SmartJacks are designed to hold up to 30.000lbs. and will never rust.
Adam has a century-plus-old home in Hamilton, ON. The floors were sagging due to improper support systems. Omni Basement Systems replaced and added their SmartJack system to support the sagging floor properly.
SmartJacks are house jacks but with a huge difference. They are galvanized jacks that are fully adjustable. The footing for the jacks is engineered to create a "bulb of influence" under the floor, which will distribute the weight more evenly throughout the soil below.
